The Museum was founded at the end of the 19 th century, during the Turkish occupation, and after having changed many places is now housed at the building of the Commercial Ottoman School. The Collection includes: Minoan Art, Geometric and Archaic Art, findings of Classical and Hellenistic Years and also Graeco-Roman Art, all presented through a variety of sculptures, statues, inscriptions and coins.
The museum is located in the village of Myrtos. Minoan pottery, agricultural tools, domestic vessels, weaving tools and precious relics of the modern Crete history are exhibited.
